Happy Holidays!!!

Happy Holidays to you all!!!

I know I haven't been on here much. Reflecting on 2013, it was a fairly good year with my crochet business. I expanded by creating a blog, marketing more and reaching a wider audience, and networking more with various photographers to use my products.  My goal for 2014 is to have more followers on my Blog, create more crocheted items not just geared towards babies but more towards children, women, men, pets, in addition to items for your home. Realizing that I need to pace myself when it comes to crocheting various items I plan to have a planner of weekly items to make and create to continue to expand my fan base and clientele.

I also hope to get more professional photos of my items by photographers and even work with more photographers than the ones I am already working with.

I just finished my Masters this year in May and I'm hoping to start my Doctorates next year in 2014. I'm also hoping to get back into the gym and have a weekly regimen of healthy eating, exercising, and meditation.

I am truly thankful and grateful for each and every one of you. SweetPea Crochets wouldn't be what it is if it weren't for all you guys. Keep sharing my page and giving me feedback of any items you would love to see in the store. Good bye 2013 hello to a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS!!!!

My Apple Hat!!

So today I've been having a crappy day all day. Just NOT a good day at all. My ultimate goal is to start working with MORE amazing photographers. I already work with two. One who's full time and another who's a full time mommy and part time photographer. Well I met another amazing photographer named Heather over at "HD Photography." And she bought one of my handspun thick & thin newborn bonnets from me. I also sent her a few little other goodies. So here is one if the hats I sent: my newborn Apple hat! I'm in ❤️ With this picture!!! Big HUGE shoutout to Heather! Thank you SO much!!!!

At the Field Museum!!!

I'm here in Chicago at the Field Museum! I decided to come by myself. I had a cranky morning but I'm glad I decided to get out and venture out alone. I'm sitting here eating lunch and I've only seen 1/3 of this place! It's HUGE!!! And SO much to see and absorb. Here are a few pics I took:

I'm still not done yet! It's a bit chilly here in Chicago but there's SO much to see. Happy Monday!

Wedding Day!!!

Today is the big day!!! It's my cousins wedding day. It's our 2nd day here in Chicago and things are all going pretty good. We had a mishap with our flight and United Airlines changing our flight departure without telling us so because of that we got rebooked to a much later flight. We literally spent the whole day in the airport arriving at midnight.

However everything else is going good. The weather is a bit more humid than I thought it would be so I'm hoping my hair lasts through today and after today I won't care.

My sister an I went to Hobby Lobby and to Coopers Hawk Wine Restaurant... SO nice! We had an amazing wine tasting!

I bought my Christmas yarn so my goal is to at least start in a newborn Santa Suit while I'm here.

More pics to come soon!

Smooches!

All moved in!!! Now time to pack for Chicago!

So we are officially ALL MOVED IN! Thank GOD! I was NUTS trying to move a 3800sq ft house in 3 days! Now I have somewhat unpacked the house but not fully. Now I'm packing to leave for Chicago tomorrow for my cousin wedding on Saturday. Today I ran some errands which included stopping by Joann's to buy some yarn to start on Christmas items to put in my shop also for my photographers.

I'm pretty much done packing just have a few things left to pack including Pugsley's bag for the dog hotel. I'm excited to get out of Vegas for a week and get away. After non stop schooling for 6 years and just finishing up my Masters I think I'm due for a vacation. My goal is travel more within the country and outside the country as well.

I figured I would check in to see if I had any new followers but only just the one follower :( When I get back I'm definitely going to look into how to market more and get more customer feedback and interaction. Not only here on my blog but my Facebook page as well.

Well I'm going to get going...I'll be blogging and posting pictures while on my trip. Talk soon!

Cold & Windy....

It's like 55 degrees here in Vegas and it's COLD & WINDY! We usually don't face these types of temps until this time next month in October. I'm leaving on Thursday, October 3rd for Chicago and I just realized that out of all the crocheted scarves and hats I've made I've never made myself anything lol. So I'm thinking that maybe I'll whip up myself a cute slouchy beanie before I go. Brrr.... #ineedsomecoffee

Chicago Bound in One Week....Can't wait!

Ugghhh...I'm SOOOO over packing up boxes, donating items, and throwing things out. This move is FINALLY coming to an end. We officially move into the new house on Sunday!!! Thank God! We won't even have time to unpack because we will be leaving flying out to Chicago on Thursday which I'm SO excited about! It will be SO good to get out of Vegas for a week. I'm going for my cousins wedding and while I'm there I will be spending a day with my best friend Kevin who is a police officer in Wisconsin. Along with spending time with family of course and good food.

I am planning on taking my crocheting along with me on the plane. I think its safe to say that I have been going through "yarn withdrawals" I have all my yarn packed up in big bins and every time I pass by my "yarn room" and see all my yarn packed up I think to myself how I can't wait to get settled so I can get back to  crocheting. Moving during the busiest season of crocheters and knitters is the worst! Usually during this time I'm crocheting up a storm getting ready for Halloween, Fall items, Winter wear, and especially Christmas items. I'll just have to play catch up after I get back from my trip all while trying to unpack. I DO miss crocheting though.

I better get back to my last minute packing. We go over today at 4:30 to sign all the paperwork and get the keys. All utility companies have been contacted as well. There's definitely a huge shift going on in my life and I'm just excited about the changes and eager to see the outcome! #staying positive  #change  #readyfortheholidays

We need to Love one another.....stop all the hatred!!

I choose not to get involved in the Facebook /Twitter Debates and Drama....when it comes to Religion, Politics, Gay Marriage/Rights, Racism, Gun Violence, The war on terror, Healthcare etc......I do have my own opinions but they are just that.... MY opinions. We as Americans have men and women constantly fighting for our freedom. Freedom to speak, and have our own opinions. With that said.....we need to le...arn to respect one another. We all have our daily struggles cause Lord knows I do. We need to stop judging, pointing fingers, and instead of putting each other down, disrespecting each other we need to learn to lift each other up. I bet if people lifted each other up as much as they put each other down and talked about one another because of how they feel and live their lives we would like in a much better world. At the end of the day we all must live amongst each other. Lets set better examples for the generations to follow. I love each and every one of you, all my gays, Muslims, Mormons, Jews, Christians, Catholics, Police Officers, Military, Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, and the confused. Everyone serves a purpose on this earth and we all need to come together and learn to RESPECT and LOVE one another DESPITE our differences. #loveoneanother #beanexample #respect #endhatred #endgunviolence #prayforabettertomorrow

Happy Monday, Fall is here!!!

Can you believe it???  Fall is FINALLY here! I like the Summer but LOVE the fall!!! Time for Halloween, Fall Festivals, Pumpkins, Pies, Thanksgiving, Time with Family & Friends, and most of all cooler temps. I'm still packing as I type this and officially move on Saturday, September 28th....but no worries. I plan to start on Christmas items as SOON as I get all moved in. In fact, I'm taking some yarn with me on the airplane when I travel to Chicago for a week for my cousins wedding. I'm SO over Summer and SO ready for fall, and good eating. Happy Monday! =)

Helped out a struggling Family

So as most of you know I'm moving next Saturday into a new home. We've been packing like crazy, throwing things away, donating things to the Goodwill etc... So after a VERY long day of more packing I was laying in bed with my window open enjoying the cooler temps. I heard a truck outside rummaging through the garbage outside. I go downstairs open the garage and see a family going through the garbage to get anything they could find for them and their two babies. I let them know there was a TON of more things in the garage we are donating. I opened the garage and they almost took EVERYTHING!! There was another box of old dishes, pots and pans in a box in the kitchen that hadn't been brought out yet and when I took that out the wife just cried. Telling me thank you so much. They have no dishes and no toys for their two small children. I told them that the garbage comes again on Thursday and we are still throwing things out so they could come back on Wednesday night. It felt really good to help a struggling family. God has definitely blessed me so in turn when I can I love helping others who are in need. Goodnight loves.

My Yarn Stash.... & Boxes

Okay so I knew I had a lot of yarn but I didn't realize I had THIS much yarn!!! 3 tubs, 4 bags, and one bucket later....I now realize I think I have a spending problem on yarn!!!! I plan to have a more organized plan once I move into the new place on keeping tabs with the amount, type, and colors of yarn I have. Some are duplicate, but I also have various types of yarn.

Still packing up boxes and moving. Somewhat done with the BIGGER parts of upstairs like the vacant bedrooms and the library. We have a TON of books some of which probably need to be given away and donated but we don't have time to do that at this point. Decided to take a little time off from packing now back to work......my back is starting to hurt. :(
My dog Pugsley is looking up at me crazy because he's ready to eat. LOL

Ugggh I HATE packing

You literally don't realize how much overall JUNK you have until its time to move. Packing up a 3800sq ft. house is NOT easy let me tell you. So there's 3 piles: Garbage, Donation, Keep and trust me there is more going to garbage and donation than anything. I'm SO over clutter and don't like to keep things around I'm not using or won't ever use. Its completely pointless. However I did pack up my yarn room. Didn't realize how much freaking yarn I had until I saw the 3 huge Tupperware bins FULL of yarn. That's not including items already made and items I'm in the process of making. Soooooo much stuff to pack up and do. Then you have to unpack it all. I don't see HOW people move every year or every 2 years. I couldn't do it. Anyway, I thought I'd take a little break from the packing so now...back to reality. Have a great day!  :)
